It's one of those things that are funny to some, offensive to others - and if the PC police have their say - all fun of any kind will disappear, because you can satisfy some of the people some of the time, but not all the people all the time. There are always going to be some who aren't happy with whatever decision is made.

We have on another list another Hector - and if you think Hector is bad - ummp. Even I have winced over some of the "jokes", But - both women and men alike have both attacked and defended the perpetrator. The majority opinion? You have a delete key - use it if you are offended - and or block the sender.

As for language - The Doctor's - an award winning TV show with real live doctors - has used the term "boob's" more than once. The term is a colloquialism, characteristic of familiar and informal conversation. And this list - if nothing else - is filled with familiar and informal conversation.

Granted, perhaps not in good taste, and certainly if used then appropriate only on Frydaye - and on that day - if something offends - hit the delete key. Beyond that - I don't recommend any other action. When you invite the PC police in, then you invite censorship of ordinary conversation - and that is patently dangerous - whether on this list, my other list's, or where-ever it occurs because it attacks freedom of speech - a very precious right. After that come the mind police. Scary thought.

Bottom line - this is the Vanagon list. Lets be a little more focused!

Regards,

John Rodgers 88 GL Driver
