(Now watch -- sometime in the future, I, or someone, will probably mention this engine behavior in reference to some darn thing. Some on the list -- folk who drive primarily on flatter terrain -- will question whether this is normal. I will then wish I had saved this thread someplace, incl. Dennis's excellent explanation. So to avoid that, I will post this on the wiki under something like "Unusual Situations: cold engine on long descents" I'm-a gonna ask Dennis for permission to quote his response to this [see his post from yesterday].)
