Right, you *can*, by law, pump your own diesel in Oregon. Didn't know about that vintage exception. Trouble is, you have to deal with a freaked-out gas station worker almost every time you touch any pump in Oregon, regardless. Many of them aren't aware of that provision in the law and they go all wierd anyway. When I fill the Ford work truck with diesel in Oregon rather than argue with a gas jockey I just let them do it..if they are reasonably prompt..I do usually end up working the gas cap anyhow on the Vanagon after listening to them fumble around and curse a bit... Pretty silly law, if you ask me...which nobody did, of course... Don Hanson
