I, too, am a believer in having separate copies of everything that goes into the Westy yet might otherwise be needed on a picnic or in the house. Wick lanterns in case of power failure? Get extras for the house, DO NOT remove the camping ones from the Westy.

But I had to break that rule when I move up here last August. That was a sufficiently different kind of Vanagon use that the campin' gear got left behind for moving van transport, while the Vanagon got loaded with stuff I'd need here for move in.

As we see, this led to EXACTLY the problem I normally manage to avoid through my OCD approach to gear storage.
