Subject: how hot should; CV's, rear Wheel bearings & brake hubs.
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Hi All,

I just overhauled the rear brakes, CV's, Bearings etc...

& now, after adjusting the brake shoes so that they just have just a Scant contact (in one spot) when the tire is spun How hot should these parts get after driving? (I just did about a mile of stop & go)

The CV's were what I would call luke warm. The rear Hubs around the bearing areas about the same. ( I would think this would be good?)

But the Brake drums were too hot to keep my hands on for very long?

Should this concern me or is it about par for the course?

Like I said, the wheels do spin freely and the brakes now are pretty dern good!

Any input with what you all are finding would be greatly appreciated !!!

I'm about to do a couple of K's on the odometer & don't want to get half way with a welded together mess in there !!! ;o)

Thanks so much in advance !!!

best, John C... SLC, UT...
