Ladybug Trailer, Inc., San Juan Capistrano > Bend, OR > KG6RCR > I HATE it when a semi runs over one of those Smart cars leaving it to pop out from under the reaar of the trailer at 70MPH. A vanagon won't clear even a slightly crushed Smart car so it does have a tendency to get dicey. That said, when I drove the van on the outer highways arounnd here, it seemed to me that I could out brake a semi 99 times out of 100. There was the time the twit in front of me braked as she was going uphill on 580 going into Oakland just off the 680 interchange in Pleasanton. I was trying to pass a truck and she hits the brakes just as I slid behind her (trying to keep MO going) in my 83 AC. Just about turned that bus turtle. I am glad it was unloaded. tim (looking at all sorts of strange VWs here in Aachen Germany) -- Where ever you are, there you be. Unless you're driving my van, in which case, you ain't got there yet. |
