Anyone following this thread AND lusting after a Vanagon Westy, mine is for sale for the same price. --Shameless Plug follows... (1990 Weekender Pop-top) More miles but runs well. Paint shines. You could sleep on the clean beds w/o sheets if you had to. Air conditioning WORKS. Cruise, Windows, locks, all curtains and screens! Top canvas and screen perfect. I even have the cover for the rear windshield washer tank cover.... At $4,500 I'll throw in the Bently, VW build sheet, manuals, brochures, new port-a-poti and Gander Mountain Chuck-box. Only rap on this nice half-camper is the usual Wisconsin rust and sort of high miles on original engine. We just took family (7 of us) on a 170 mile trip...how's that for confidence? Wife also took it last week-end to meet me at a wilderness camp site so my kids and their friends could sleep in it one last time (we bought a small RV). Sorry, there is no impending doom and drama for this Vanagon. Take your time. If your from Canada I'll meet you at Ontario/Michigan border. U.S.? I'm in Green Bay. http://s292.photobucket.com/albums/mm34/populuxe59/vanagon2009/ We do need a new car more than a camper van at this time. Chris C 90 MV Green Bay, Wis. Looks like hell to me - maybe $500 as a parts car if you're not fussy? If they took as good care of the mechanicals as they did the body...
