well, i can't find it ... but i recall seeing a company on some show on the tele that has developed a disposable bag for the army and emergencies and, one might suppose, campers and the bag contains some sorts of friendly organisms what dispose of and convert the human waste (fluids and solids) into nothingness. so you can poop/pee, close the bag, and toss it into the woods. literally. now, since we army folks always have shovels and love to dig all most as much as marines, the idea there is that you'd dig a hole and bury the bag, thereby letting no one know you'd been there. riiiiiiiiiiiiiight. :) no, they didn't mention any smell getting out of the bag. no, i don't know how much they might cost ... they didn't mention that. but they did talk about cities buying these things for emergencies like hurricanes and tornados. supposedly better for the local environments than the chemical stuff in those large porta-johns and such. joel |
