Hi Jeff, That plastic part may be available if the vendor has it on their shelf, but AFAIK it is not yet in reman, and VW has no more in North America. I burned mine up on the way home from BOTC and cooked the engine real good. The garage that did the repair called three suppliers looking for the part (including VW) and no-one had one. Then one of the locals called back and said they had found one at the back of a shelf. Frank Condelli recently ordered a bunch from VW of Germany, so there are ways to get one but I wouldn't consider it "readily available" as Frank's supply is still a few weeks away from arrival. Meanwhile I've been using my 73 aircooled as a daily driver, and I am really missing the power steering and hydraulic clutch!
