not exactly the same thing, but semi-sorta-kinda-somewhat in the neighborhood. which i've not seen actually done ... there was a german guy who wrote a book about traveling around the world in his 69 vw bus. and strangely wanted to do it again. so he was designing (in the back of that book) his next vehicle: yup, a vanagon/T3. with a slide-out. he intended to take the passenger side 'wall', where the sliding door would be (if it were in australia or the UK) and make it into a slide-out, like you see on these big $$$$ RV's. he intended/designed it to slide out only a couple of feet, just to move the stove/sink/fridge/cabinets out so he could have the entire normal width of the bus as 'floor'. he had some pictures of some work he'd started, but i've never seen the finished product. anybody seen anything like that??
as to the seats, what about something for the Carat/Multivan jump seats? just a sort of metal stand that they could be put into ... unca joel p.s. i sure wish it was friday ... already got my silly song just waiting ... thanks to the squirrel and some other folks. :) |
