Just wasn't sure if battery design had changed. Since I hastened the death of my old aux battery, figured it can't hurt to ask. ;) To anyone else choosing to do something like this, there might be enough room to fit a piece bent piece of mild steel that would fit between bolt hole and lip on battery (if present) I would make it broader at contact surface on battery lip, than at bolt hole end. I've seen this kind of thing on other cars. Doing this is likely less work than making a strap. (you need to make, and fasten to box, a bit for strap to hook onto at other end) I found that I can anneal mild steel (just shy of 1/8") with a propane torch. Not orange hot, but red. But then I'm sure lots of people have been fine w/o a strap. Heck. My starter battery didn't have one. In terms of height and width, my group 41 aux battery is so tight in there, if blocked properly with a piece of wood (or ?) to keep battery from sliding sideways L/R, as long as one isn't doing a "Dukes of Hazard" jump, well.....
