I have an '86 Westy (full camper). I loaded up the van with everything I normally take on a trip, plus, gasoline, propane and water. I had the vehicle weighed and following are the results... Front 960kg 2120 lbs Rear 900kg 1980 lbs Basically I have a 50/50 F/R weight distribution. I am running General Altimax RT tires 205/70 R14 98T XL. My door sticker states that for 205/70 R14 97 tires, the pressures should be 30/40 psi. Using these pressures I find the front tires seem underinflated and the rears over. I am experimenting with 40 psi front and rear or 35 psi front and rear. Being a camper, I don't expect to put any great weight in the van over what it weighs now. Does anyone have any comment or similar experience? D |
