I have vans with each so I can say without reservation the Norcold is the noisier and more vibration prone of the two. The Vitrifrigo with it's fan isn't silent by any means but does not tend to rattle things like the Norcold compressor does. They both suck down the batteries. My Norcold model is slightly larger than the common Vitrifrigo used to replace the stock Dometic. Mark
