Andrew - dunno about the folks in Kiwi-land......

Mike is not that odd a (nick)name for a woman or girl. But not that common either.

Michael Learned is famous on TV for being Momma Walton and Jane Seymour played "Michaela Quinn" on Dr Quinn, Medicine Woman.

Michelle or Mickey is generally (but not always) the accepted "female" version of Michael, hence the nickname Mike for girls. I know several that go by the nickname.

I'm sure Mr Squirrel has been called worse..... -- Jim Thompson 84 GL 1.9 "Gloria" 84 Westfalia 2.1 "Ole Putt" 72 411 Station Wagon "Pug" oldvolkshome@gmail.com http://www.oldvolkshome.com *********************************** On Tue, Aug 25, 2009 at 3:22 PM, Andrew Grebneff <goose1047@gmail.com>wrote:
