Folks, just for the record here is a story of my personal Dometic fridge you will all find enlightening. Ever since coming back from Mexico where my Dometic performed flawlessly, showing an average of -5C every morning no matter where, it started not cooling properly on propane. A few weeks ago I plugged it on 110 and found that it would go to -7C easily so I presumed there to be a blockage in the propane fire box. Out comes the fridge and I service it and find not much to be concerned about. It seems to run well on the bench using my barbecue tank and it regulator. Back in the van and hooked to the van's tank and regulator, same problem as before. It would go down to +5C, that's it. So, I get my barbecue tank and regulator and hook it up directly to the line from the van's tank regulator. Within one hour it's cooled down to -5C. So the regulator is bad, right ? Installed a new regulator yesterday and it's now cooling as it had previously. Down to -9C easily overnight. The weird thing of it is the regulator that I removed was installed October 07, 2005 a Marshall Brass 290 the same as the one I just installed. So, a question remains as to why the regulator only lasted a few years. Is this normal ? Just a crappy regulator built in ? Mexican propane damage ? What ?

Cheers,
