You and others working with the business end of a garden hose might want to know about a gadget available through just about any RV outlet, maybe even RV sections of discount stores. It's just made for filling an outlet like the westy's. It's plastic, with a shutoff valve at the base and a foot-long clear plastic tube that just fits into the filler hole. It makes filling that tank a one-person operation.

Jim

Those little gizmos work okay in that they will wedge in one of the three opening holes, while still providing a little bit of ventilation so water doesn't shoot back in your face. The shutoff valve is nice. I saw one at my local hardware store for about five or six dollars and grabbed it. Go Westy has em too at twice the price;) Admittedly, just breaking out the screen section would allow for much more rapid filling, one just needs to be sure that the hose is clean before snaking it through the fill tube, but it certainly would allow for a much more rapid fill. I never cared to fill from the inside of the van as I invariably make a mess. From the sounds of things, perhaps the earlier vans did not have a screen at the start of the fill valve? Learn something new every day about these vans.

cheers,

Troy
