Rene,

Welcome to the list.  I'm sorry that I can't provide a solution to your continuing starter woes, but I can comment on the John Muir book.  Simply - you and your husband must get a copy!  Although it is geared to our air-cooled brethern, it is chock-full of timeless Muirisms and general helpful advice.  Also, the Escher-like illustrations alone are worth the cost of the book.

Your starter question also arrives at a good time - since the starter in our 88 Westy also appears to be failing at 115k.  Where did you find the specific starter replacement instructions in the archives?  Were they they ones posted by Martin Jagersand on August 18, 2007?

Best of luck - and enjoy John Muir's book!

Todd

85 Westy (Rivendell)
