It's 40 minutes to midnight PST so......

My Dad was well versed in "working/living in the woods". He was in exploration (Cominco - Geology) and more experienced in that regard than I can imagine.

He wasn't a man of many words, but to paraphrase him loosely:

"A black bear? Somewhat predictable. A brown bear? Not so much. A grizzly? *Much* less. A Wolverine? Unpredictable and vicious."

I whistle/sing when trekking around in the woods alone.

Glad you were not injured.
