oh I didn't say it was vanagon rated. There was a post a week or so ago asking about a 15 inch tire that would fit in the stock spare tire clamshell, and 'if' that person has an early vanagon .......and all they wanted was a narrow ( to fit in the clamshell ) 15 inch spare tire..... which is why I mentioned that size. But not saying it's vanagon-rated. 'Temporary use' spare is what I'd call it - that 195/65 R 15. I didn't think we were speaking anyway :-) but I know you'll point out anything I say that isn't accurate.

re "The Vredestein Comtrac is available in 195/70R15 (as well as 185R14), with plenty of capability for Vanagons. Heck, if you were silly enough, you could go with their 175R14's (load index 99/98 R). Nice quiet tire too."

that size, 195/70 R 15 ....interesting size. I do think the 205/65 R 15 C is 'nigh perfect' size wise, for a road tire on a vanagon. though. They look 'just perfect' to me, on 'real' vanagon 15 inch wheels. I'm sure pleased with that combo. 175 R 14's ........only reason to get that size I'd think is to keep the price of the tire as low as possible- basically too small a size in my opinion.
