see my just posted post. sorry for any confusion or mis-information. Did not mean to imply that there is a vanagon rated 195/70 R 15 ......though there could be. 205/65 R 15 C is 'the way' as far as I'm concerned these days, in 15, that is. I also suspect, or think, that the Michelin agilles might be much better in various aspects that other similar tires in the same size and load rating. They sure feel magic to me. Looking on tirerack.com I was surprised to see a Goodyear I think it was, in that size, for $ 174 each, or some silly high price like that. Ouch. I wonder how well those would work. I'm, talking steering response too, not load capability, or even wet or dry traction .......but nice crisp feel in the steering response, along with excellent straight line tracking. I'm sure some tires shine more in that department than others. Too bad we can't test drive 5 different sets on our vans before purchasing one. Amazing the difference tires make too. I've always been 'not overly thrilled' with new HD Bilstein shocks on the front of vanagons - but, with a more brilliant tires on, the shocks are acting like shocks should now. On 14's they always seem like 'ordinary dull almost soft' shocks. With the Michelin 15's on ..... now the shocks seem to have woken up considerably. Touch of firmness when you want it, nice supple feel the rest of the time. Some of the very best money a person could spent on their vanagon is in wheels, tires and shocks. The right combo can make the driving expereince significantly more rewarding.
