hello Melissa I also am starting on my 3rd edtion of the Doglimo. this time I built a 85 weekender with a I4 jetta motor. This vannie had sat for about 4 years without a motor. needed some body repairs for some rusted areas along with rebuilt trans and motor and pop top canvas. took about 4 weeks to build it and paint it. Drove it first to Buses on the River, about a 4 hour trip one way Van ran great good power , Ok gas mileage.I really like the weekender set up a lot. I am now going to test it again this weekend on about a 6 hour ride. I also have AAA premier which has a 200 mile tow just in case. happy trails to you and me :) later mark d |
