The only spare parts in my kit are a fuel pump, voltage regulator, belts and an ignition switch. The rest are repair items like hose couplers and clamps, rubber tape and duct tape, bailing wire. electrical wire and assorted connectors, JB weld, epoxy putty, RTV sealant, tie wraps, fine sandpaper etc. Tools are original jack, long breaker bar w/ 17mm deep socket, the original phillips/flat screw driver and the VW 13/10 mm open end wrench that came with the van. I'll throw in a socket set for longer trips. Really, if you stay on top of all your systems and know their condition you shouldn't need any more stuff.
