Is this a vanagon list or an etymology list? Is today Friday? Not that I have ANY objection to this discussion at all - I think etymology is generally more interesting than vanagons, albeit less useful. But next time a moderator comes after me for bringing something up that's off topic when it's not Friday, I'm going to pull this discussion out of the archives! Well, okay, that's an idle threat, I can't be bothered doing that - but what's all this doing here?
