Speaking of being stranded, just yesterday I received word that two friends were reporting possible wheel bearing problems on their Syncro. This report came from them at 11:00AM and they were in Deadhorse, AK. Deadhorse is not quite a "Basic Featureless Environment" but is as close to one as you can get. It lies at the northern end of the Dalton Highway on the shore of the Arctic Ocean. I have yet to hear whether they plan to deal with the issue there, in Fairbanks, Anchorage, or on the side of the road somewhere. I heard through a third party whom has bearings and seals set aside awaiting instructions.

Mark in AK
