The best I could do in a hurry. Looking a bit closer, it looks like the California is what we got in the US of A. 44,500 DM in 07/1989. That would be a 1990 year model.

The $15,000 price for a clean 1990-1991 Westy comes from observation. Cris Torlasco's Fafner comes immediately to mind. Go Westy seems to move them out at significantly hicher prices. Go look and the prices on thesamba and ebay completed auctions. Historically, KBB is not a very good source of Vanagon pricing. Try the NADA guide instead.
