Like I said, we're all grateful to, and respectful of (beholden to), the moderator. I won't even _bend_ your rules!

If you will review this thread, you will find that I am not the one who brought up religion, and I will not accept the allegation. If you expect us to keep religion off the list, you too should respect your own rule.

"...(me included actually) who take cursing seriously, and that really stands for "May God condemn him/her/it to eternal torment" which is a pretty serious thing. It's bad theology -- we don't believe God works that way...

...Dam' or darn or dang or damnation or other such are fine, it's clear that it's either just an intensifier or definitely a play curse. I'd rather not see dammit though, and definitely nothing with a G attached..."

What you are saying, unambiguously (in no uncertain terms), is that these expressions do not ruffle your religion feathers, and that therefore they are ok; and that religion is your sole reason for disqualifying 'damn.' Who brought religion into the list?

Matt

Dear Matt,

Call it a ruling if you like, but within this list it's real. No insult intended.

I'm sorry, that's out of order. This is nothing whatever to do with your beliefs or nonbeliefs, or mine, and there will be no discussion whatever allowed on the subject. We don't do religion on this list, period. You interested in what I or anybody else believe or don't, do it privately. I'm not angry, but I am serious.

Yours, David
