Yes, it is, I just checked with my dealer here in Ottawa last week. Cap, bearing retainer, 091 301 197 - $6.12. AND, I too have those bearing kits, right here in Canada, no need to import them from the USA, from my _Vanagon New Parts_ (http://frankcondelli.com/sales.htm) webpage > Bearing kit, rear wheel, 5994, (1) 211 501 283D, (1) 211 501 287, (2) 211 501 317, (1) cotter pin - $45.90. AND, you had better check the length of the spacer as it is of critical importance > Spacer, rear wheel bearings, 42.8 mm long, 211 501 281 E - $39.95. The price is for the ones I have in stock. They were still available from VW last time I ordered them. I have not checked for awhile so status may have changed. I sometimes install a grease fitting in the hub but it's not for everyone. You NEED to have the brake drum off when pumping in grease so to see if the seal pops off and gets grease in the brake area. See my > _Vanagon Westy Suspension, Steering, Brake Overhaul_ (http://frankcondelli.com/springs.htm) webpage. Torque on that axel nut is 360 ft. lbs, just in case you did not know that. Must be tightened with all wheels on the ground.
