This thread started about the FRONT sidemarkers. The modified-into-a-Doka Vanagon was missing the front turnsignal/sidemarker lights. As far as I know ALL T3's got a variation of that front light. My European spec T3's had version without the lamp socket for the side markers. To the uninitiated, they just like the US/Canadian front lights. Upon closer inspection, you may notice a slight cut out on the outer edge which forms a sort of side reflector.

Worse than that, my 89 Syncro 16 Doka has hideous sidemarkers up front. They look like the Hella lights used on VW T1 & T2 ambulances. This was a formerly a water company truck so was likely not fitted by the factory. You can see them on the extremely left of my white Doka in this photo. The lens is broken on the driver's side.
