I've had to replace 3 wheel bearings on my van and they all had similar symptoms:1/ rrrr rrrrr rrrrrr rrrrr noise, especially while turning AWAY from the side of the van with the bearing problem, increasing the weight of the van on the bad bearings. 2/ when they were fronts, it was easy to hear the rrrr noise because you could just turn the steering wheel. 3/ my rear one (R/R) almost made me think it was the front, but when someone rode with me, they could easily hear it was the R/R. The more worn it got, the louder it got in all driving conditions, not just turning. bob On Wed, Sep 9, 2009 at 7:24 PM, neil N <musomuso@gmail.com> wrote: > On 9/9/09, Troy <colorworks@gci.net> wrote: > > Hi folks: > > > > I have been hearing a scraping, clunking sound, from the rear end > (passenger > > side) on my 89 westy vanagon. > > |
