Mike, what Jake said: Shock cord. Instead of hardware, just use a fisherman's knot, I do this all the time. Sometimes I make the "scrunchie" oversize, so you can wrap whatever you're wrapping two or three times. And I know you love the details, so after you have your new "scrunchie" of the correct weight and diameter, use a bit of shrink tubing to finish off the ends (no fraying). Last time I was in Bend, they had a rather nice surplus store there, I'm sure they have shock cord in whatever diameter you'd like. Scrunch on, Gary
