85 and newer only have a float switch in the fluid reservoir cap that lights the light if the brake fluid drops too far.

(80-84 don't have a brake fluid level warning but are supposed to turn on the light if one fluid circuit has pressure and the other doesn't. I doubt too many of these work right anymore if they ever did)
