I had both of my half axles replaced today, and the noise has vanished. The mechanic only used one tube of grease for both axles, and that doesn't seem nearly enough to me--comments? Since I am in Alaska, I decided to go with a synthetic Mobil one grease and put aside the grease that comes with the kits. How much grease can actually get put into a CV anyway-- inquiring minds want to know! I am tempted to break the clamp and get a needle valve for the grease gun and put more in there.
