Likely you will get through w/o any questions about the vehicle. In the case they ask about it and notice it is titled and registered in a different name you have the signed over title and can explain the situation. I don't think there will be any problem.

When I moved to Canada, I just drove my (then NY state registered) VW Westy across the border with all my moving stuff. No trouble. This was just before 911 though. I then later dealt with the importation paperwork in Canada.
