Hi, Greg. I have a Subaru three- gauge cluster in my van, with white VDO gauges. It looks something like this:

For the oil temp the VDO sender for a bug works fine, it replaces the drain plug in our vans. If you want to run a coolant temp, what I did was drill and tap the coolant distribution tower, carefully, of course. Mine's been holding on for close to a decade now. For oil pressure: http://www.bus-boys.com/bbvdo.htm#pressure and http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=367716 and 37031&highlight=oil+sender.

Good luck.
