Fellow with an 83 Westy started chatting with me this morning during physical therapy. He loves his Westy but has some issues with it -- standard stuff that's been discussed here and there for ages. For example, his Dometic runs great on electricity, but not on propane. He'd like to beef up his little driver-side aux battery. Stuff like that. I told him to give me his email address and that I'd provide him with a list of online resources where he can start drilling for information. First thing that comes to mind is this list and the wiki. Westfalia.org seems to have some very good stuff. I know there are easily a half-dozen other sites jam-packed with Vanagon and Westy tips and tricks goodness! I'll put together a list, forward it to him, and hoick it onto the wiki for next time around. He's also gonna be looking for someone in or near Bend, Ore., to do electrical work. Anyone got a recco? -- Mike "Rocket J Squirrel" Elliott 84 Westfalia: Mellow Yellow ("The Electrical Banana") 74 Utility Trailer. Ladybug Trailer, Inc., San Juan Capistrano Bend, OR KG6RCR |
