I just repainted the poptop on my 82 Westy, installed new stainless hardware and seals. It looks great, but after reattaching the top to the supports in front and hinges in the back, the latch doesn't really align anymore, the back left is sitting on the roof panel and the back right is raised about 1.5" above the roof panel. I'm assuming there is an adjustment procedure to get it aligned again, but none of the holes in the back hinges or front supports seem to be the kind where you can slide the bolt around to adjust where it is tightened. Am I missing something? I didn't take anything else off. The Bentley doesn't seem to cover this, it makes it seem more straight forward. Any tips are appreciated. Pete |
