Besides pioneering the Subie conversion and helping so many through that list, he holds another "first."

At Syncro de Mayo '04, he snapped an axle up on the mtn. He called Van-Cafe right then on his cell, and back in camp reported that he'd have a replacement the next morning. Sure enough, the Van-Cafe goodie truck arrived and several helped Warren get the new axle in.

Since then broken axles on "over-powered" Vanagons have become common, but as I remember, Warren was there first. He will be missed.
