Subject: Re: Mechanics using customer supplied parts.. Was bars leaks

This subject is so "general", customers want to save money and often want the cheapest price and business owner want the make the biggest profit. It'a 1000's year old.

This as nothing to do with VW mechanics or parts dealer.

It's a fight, now who will win! I agree, the mechanic often do.

Good thing i got rid of those, yea, those, those who look you in the eye when it's time to pay with 20$ bill and expect you to say stop, that enough men, thanks you so much. Or those who ask you to pay the remaining 1000$ in a week or 2. Those, those with a fake smile who would sue you if you make one tinny mistake. You are their friend until...

I like the restaurant comparison, pretty funny, and real!

There is a big difference with specialize shop, the one that work out of passion compare to those who do general work and move after 2 years to another city... or block.

Beaten subject, nothing will ever change.

We had a live discussion last weekend with a customer against 4 mechanics, including Frank C and Eric (on the list), he was eager to understand shop fee's, saying that 65$ hr is way to much, especially for small shop. It took us 2 hours to explain him why. Still, it's always interesting to get the customer point of view.

Ben
