On page 75.4 of my Bentley, there is a photo and a snippet of text that may help. It says "If necessary, realign roof by moving rear linkages in erongated (sic) holes and tighten bolts. I think you should be able to loosen the bolts (maybe just enough to allow movement under pressure) close the top to its normal position, then gently raise the top and tighten the bolts. Perhaps if you put a dab of grease at the edge of the hinge base, you will see how far it moves when the top is properly positioned.
