Or how bout doing it like some European countries? Drive your rig up onto an auto carrying train and go cross country with your vehicle onboard. We have a rail system, we just refuse to use it much or take the time to bring it into modern times.

All these huge motorhomes that head south during the winter...They could drive onto flatbed cars and save oceans of fuel. Mom and Pop could sit inside and play Canasta all the way to Quartzite..Then drive off and head over to the RV park burning only a couple of dozen gallons of fuel ...

When I go long distance for an extended vacation I'd love to not have to drive...until I get there...if I so choose. I have done ferry trips in Mexico where they even let you stay in your camper onboard...why not that on a flatbed train?.. Don Hanson
