Not the first time I've seen a company's parts or application listing not match vanagons in the real world. And sometimes they are not even interested in what the correct information is.

That is scary cheap all right ! ask them their return rate on those tanks, if they've been selling them a while.

Frankly, I'm surprised ( or disappointed let's say ) when 'low price' is the primary concern...... both from the buyer or the seller. One country and culture, it seems, that has more and more products available to us lately, seems to like to push the limits of 'how cheap they can make it' a bit too far, until you have things for sale at 'freight and salvage' that can't even begin to do what they are advertised to do ( like car dollies and hose clamps ) - that's how super cheaply they are made.......or better expressed than that -that's how hard they push the envelope on how cheap you can make a product and still claim that it is what it is supposed to be. Shame to see humans operating this way. Before we know it, our own military planes will be made over there, out of our recycled beer cans, and they won't hold up at all.

I'm just plain afraid to try the extra cheap stuff these days. it doesn't pay ! and isn't that ironic - you try to save with a low price, yet what good is it if it won't work or last ? I'm shocked these days when I see 'made in USA' - favorable surprised. Once upon a time everything wasn't plastic either, but good ole metal that lasts indefinitely quite often. oh well !~ 'It's the world ya live in." - one saying goes.

trying to not be bothered by it all, sdf

That is cheap - don't know if it's one of those situations where the following saying applies... "I can't afford to be cheap" - think it'll hold up?
