Well, can't say anything about the head seeps -- others certainly know better than I do. So far as the water pump -- a leaking water pump means more than a leak. It means that the pump is ready to fail -- maybe catastrophically, and nobody knows when. A new water pump that you put on now can be switched to the new engine. If you are paying for the labor (sounds like you are), there will be that. If you are not concerned about being stranded ......... . But Barr's leak will not have any effect on whether the water pump fails or not (unless it might hasten failure??).
