I do soemtimes worry (particularly on fuel clamps) about using my regular end cutting nippers.  On CV boot clamps (the other major use for them) I don't care so much, but for fuel clamps... So I actually have one set to cut with (sharp) and one set that I've purposely taken the edge off with a file to crimp.  Different color handles so I know which one I've got.  The dull set doubles as good nail pullers for finish nails around the house BTW.
