Back up cameras are used on vehicles as small as or even smaller than a vanagon and your trailer. With a Prius, in order to get side air bags, one must buy a package that includes a back up camera. Why? Maybe to provide safety when little kids and pets are around, but mainly to provide bucks to Toyota, I believe. But, since that was the only way to get the air bags, I got it. Dave Mc
