You could easily fashion one yourself. It will only delay the inevitable. The real problem is that the black plastic used for the top part of the duct becomes brittle with age and literally crumbles away. I repaired mine using some HVAC ducting sheet metal (available at home improvement stores). I cut a section about 12" long and bent it to fit over the top of the plastic, and attached it at the edges with sheet metal screws. It's held for over a year now, but sadly it's still probably just a matter of time before the plastic cracks somewhere else. Allan -- 1991 Vanagon GL |
