You don't touch the adjusting rings. They set the bearing preload and ring gear position. The most likely cause of leaking is the flange seal and they can be replaced. Make sure the tranny is not over filled and that the vent is clear. A small leak is no reason for concern. All seals on rotating parts have to leak just a bit or the seal will wear out anyway. If the leak is from the o-ring on the outside of the bearing carrier I would just leave unless it starts leaking enough to be a problem.
