I don't think it would help much with backing up: since it's right at the hitch point, it will always be more or less in the center of your view no matter what the trailer is doing. I second the idea of a kid's bike flag, long fiberglas rod with a day-glo orange pennant at the top. Either one at the center-rear, or one on each rear corner of the trailer. Allan
