Now you've done it. Those of us with fairly new Westies will be Jonesin for a GMC, upgraded of course, or maybe a Vixen (kinda westyish), or maybe a BlueBird wanderlodge.

We grouse about NLAs and parts and bits and so forth but we have the list to consult. The GMC guys and the Vixen guys have similar addiction support groups but their repair bills are usually more severe walletbites.

We grumble about fuel range and so on. Mileage, I mean. Now that Vixen with the pusher 5cyl TD that's a long range wagen. But miniscule ground clearance. The GMC is, well, a rolling antique, albeit a glorious one with the three tone gold hi-lo shag and like that. The wanderlodge is a REAL bus not a pretend bus like our VWs.

Camping is more adventurous and exciting in the Westy. Heck, if you feel a bit under gunned you can buy a generator. I'll zing up a few pix of the various to Picasa and post a link.

Quartzine and BLM long term camping is a totally different experience, kinda like burning man but droopier.

Did RJ Squirrel ever figure out the potty training bit? The short thetford makes you true class C and fits between the seats. Hook up a greywater tank of your own design made of plastic and secured with removable straps for emptying and shazam! You're almost in RV wonderland.

Pensionerd.
