Jim's story reminds me of the last time we stayed in an RV park in our 1974 Orange deadhead Westfalia. We stayed in a small, nice RV park owned by a casino in Carson City. We were attending an antique tractor show, and had brought two vehicles, a pickup to tow the trailer with the tractors (John Deere and Farmall) and the 74 Westy. As it turns out, the RVs in the rest of the park dwarfed both our pickup and Westy. Not only that, but many of the rigs were mega-expensive (my husband said a couple of them were in the over $100,000 range - one was a Newell or Newhall or somethine like that - huge). Nevertheless, in the process of eating our breakfast and drinking coffee outside the Westy in the mornings, the people from the expensive big rigs all stopped and had to check out our bus and hung out to drink coffee with us. As Jim said, the vans tend to attract attention and start conversations.
