You don't touch the adjusting rings. They set the bearing preload and ring gear position. The most likely cause of leaking is the flange seal and they can be replaced. Make sure the tranny is not over filled and that the vent is clear. A small leak is no reason for concern. All seals on rotating parts have to leak just a bit or the seal will wear out anyway. If the leak is from the o-ring on the outside of the bearing carrier I would just leave unless it starts leaking enough to be a problem. Martin, There is a seal that could need to be replaced. It is an easy job and something you can do in combination with pulling the axel and greasing the joints. If you have not done the CV joints in the past few years I would suggest doing the axel on that side and replace the seal. Might want to do the axel on the other side if the left side looks dry. Seal will only get worse with time. Gary Dennis

My trany is leaking some oil on the left side, on the drive flange. All the other areas are completely dry! Not sure if I can carefully tighten the adjusting ring,... Would appreciate some feedback - thanks,

Martin
